A clock has three hands — the short hand shows the hours, the long hand shows the
minutes and the thin fast hand shows the seconds.
The hour hand takes one hour to move from one number to the next. So, it completes
one round of the clock in 12 hours. The minute hand moves faster. It completes one
round of the clock in one hour.
We denote time by a.m. (ante meridiem) or p.m. (post meridiem). We use a.m.
to denote time between 12 midnight and 12 noon and p.m. is used to denote time
between 12 noon and 12 midnight.
The duration of an activity is the time taken to finish the activity.
A calendar is a chart, which shows the days, dates, weeks and months in a year.
